Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Basketweave and Daisy Butter Crock with Original Lid.
This butter is described in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 106. As you know, this us an uncommon butter crock.
This beauty featues a Basketweave Background that Hosts Four Daisies, the Back Two of which Cross their Stems. The lid repeats the basketweave pattern and boasts a daisy on the knob. Measures 4 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" across the top.
Excellent Condition. The base has two minor 1/8" nibbles on the bottom edge. The lid has six minor nibbles on the top edge (1/8" to 3/16"). That's it! No other chips or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration on either base or lid.
