Item 12275

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this most uncommon Merchant Script Jug made for the "Barrett Bros, Penn Yan, N.Y."

It was made and stamped by the Co-operative Pottery Co., Lyons, N.Y."  This pottery was formed by former employees of the Jacob Fisher pottery in Lyons after it closed and was only in operation from 1902 to 1904 or 1905 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900 (pp. 367-368).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp on the Shoulder and Three Lines of Cobalt Script.  Stands 13 1/2" tall.

I cannot find any merchant script jugs from Penn Yan online, so I am assuming they are not common.

Very Good Condition.  Some staining on the right side and a very faint line on the base running horizontally above my pen in the closeup.  No spout or base chips, cracks, or restoration.
