Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Merchant Jug made for "A. Schell, 380 Broadway, Albany."   
 
It was made and stamped by the "Ottman Bro's & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."   William and Gilbert Ottman ran their pottery from 1872-1892 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 68).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and the Merchant Advertising in Handwritten Block Lettering.  Stands 13 1/4" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.     A 1/4" chip inside the spout and three on the left side of the spout (1/8" to 1/2"), and some scattered light staining from use.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
