Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "A. O. Whittemore, Havana, N.Y."
 
This is the work of A. O. Whittemore who potted in Havana from 1862-1893 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72).
 
This beauty features a Strong Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Bright Brushed Cobalt Double Tulip Decoration.  The floral has eight leaves and two blossoms with four petals each.  Stands 14" tall.     
 
Excellent Condition.  A faint 1" hairline on the right side of the spout (closeup).  Otherwise, as made.  Runs on the front bottom half are from the cobalt above in the making.
