    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 7" Stoneware Jar with Tulip Garland.

     

    It is easy to attribute to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century. (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Circa 1860, this beauty features a Small Size, Toolel Rim, and Three Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulips.  The tulips have 6-8 leaves and a blossom with 5-6 petals. Stands just 7" tall. 

     

    Excellent Condition.  A small chip inside (1/4") and outside (3/16") the rim, a faint 3/4" surface craze line from the rim, and two chips on the base (1/4", 1/2").  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
