Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Unusual 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar wtih Pinwheel Decoration.

The decoration indicates that this is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland, New York from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).

This beauty sports a Large Pinwheel Decoration that Fills the Front.  This decoration is seen in part of smaller Woodruff jars.  Looks fantastic in the larger version!  Measures 10 1/2" tall.

Very Good Condition.  Chipping around the inner seating ring where a lid would sit, two small chips inside the rim (1/4", 1/2"), three outside the rim (1/4" to 1/2"), and one at the bottom (1/2").  A narrow 1" sliver chip on the left handle.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
