Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jar whose decoration indicates that it was made by Peter Hermann's Pottery.
Peter Hermann made pottery on Eager Street in Baltimore, Maryland from 1850-1872 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 98).
This beauty features a Carefully Tooled Rim designed to allow a wax covered paper or cloth to be tied securely around the top and provide a Rounded Stripe for a Cobalt Stripe. The body of the jar features a Double Clover on Each Side Executed in Strong Cobalt. Stands 11 1/4" tall.
