    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Little 1 Gallon Crock with made and stamped by the "Union Pottery, Newark, N.J., J. Zipf, Prop'r."

     

    J. Zipf ran the Union Pottery in Newark, N.J. from 1877 to 1906 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 82).

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Cobalt Tulip with a Large Blossom and Two Leaves. The stem is formed with a slip cup and the rest of the flower with a brush.  Nice small size measuring only 7" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.

     

    Very Good Condition.  Some water glass staining inside and some traces outside from use, and a 1/2" chip on the rim in the back.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
