Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Trio of 9" Spongeware Dinner Plates marked "Belleck."

The pottery stamp features a crown with a Sword running through it with "Belleck" stamped below.  This is the mark of Ott and Brewer of the Etruria Pottery in Trenton, New Jersey.  They made Belleck from 1884 to 1893 and this is one of their marks (Gerald DeBolt, American Pottery Marks, p. 109).

These beauties feature a Scalloped Edge with Embossed Scroll Border, and Flow Sponging.  The embossed scrolling is easily visible.  They are the dinner plate size measuring 9" in diameter.

Excellent Condition.  All three are lightly used.  The plate on the left has a 3/16" kiln touch mark on the edge in the making (closeup 1).  The plate in the middle without flaw.  The plate on the right has a 3/8" glazed chip in the making (closeup 2), and a very tiny nibble on the edge (closeup 3).  Otherwise all three are as made.
