Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 8 Gallon Spongeware Ice Water Cooler made and stamped on the back, "Improved Sanitary Water Cooler, Fulper Pottery Co., Flemington, N.J."
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features a Molded Barrel Form with Four Incised Hoops, "Ice Water" on the Front, the Company Stamp on the Back, and Blue and White Sponging! Measures 16 1/2" tall and 12" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A tight 4 1/2" hairline from the rim on the left side (closeup). and overall glaze crazing from age. No rim or base chips or restoration.
An impressive piece of New Jersey stoneware! I have never seen a Fulper cooler this size.
