Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "T. F. Reppert, Successor to Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, Pa."
Thomas Reppert made pottery solo in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1884-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 157-159).
This beauty features a Top and Bottom Broad Cobalt Stripe that frame the Company Advertising Surrounding Patriotic Shield with Reppert's Predessor's Advertising Inside. Reppert succeeded James Hamilton who was a very successful potter and, as the pottery industry was waning, was working to draw some clout from Hamilton to keep going.
Exceptional Condition. Some scattered glaze wear. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
