Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "T. F. Reppert, Successor to Jas. Hamilton & Co. Greensboro, Pa."
Thomas Reppert made pottery solo in Greensboro from 1884-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 157-159). He bought out the famous pottery of James Hamilton and tried to capitalize on that name as this jar shows.
This beauty features the Three Stripes at the Top and One at the Bottom that Frame the Company Advertising Surrounding a Center Floral and Framed by Tulips at the Top. The light gray clay shows off the crisp and complete cobalt stenciling. Stands 13 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 2" by 1 1/2" chip on the bottom of the right side. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
