Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 1 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made and stamped by "J. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT."

This is the work of Julius Norton and his cousin, Edward Norton who worked in Bennington using this mark from 1850-1859 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp, 42).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and Capacity Number with Cobalt Wash, and a Large, Gorgeous Floral Decoration created by a Slip Cup on Bright Cobalt.  This much decoration on a smaller jar is not common, but certainly pleases the eye!  Measures 9 3/4" tall and 8 3/4" wide across the top.
