Coming to you from Doc's Crock is this wonderful 6 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "Seymour & Bosworth, Hartford, Conn."
This is the work of Israel Seymour and Stanley Bosworth who ran the pottery in Hartford Connecticut from 1871 to around 1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, 61).
This beauty features a Large Size, Pottery Stamp, and a Big Brushed Cobalt Bird in a Branch Decoration. The bird is 10 1/2" from his beak to the tip of his tail, and the plume is 9 1/2" long. Measures 13 1/4" tall and 13 1/2" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A 2" hairline behind the left handle (closeup 1) and some staining from use. No rim or base chips, cracks, or restoration. A surface drying/firing one on the base in the back that wraps under 2" in the making (closeup 2)
