    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Decorated Preserve Jar. 

     

    The decoration indicates that this jar was made by Asa Smith and his Sons who worked in Norwalk, Connecticut from 1843-1887 ( William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 58-60).

     

    This beauty features a Tooled and Flared Rim, and a Squiggle Flower Executed with a Slip Cup.  Nice small size and unusual decoration.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  Four flat flakes on top of the rim (1/8" to 1/4").  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
