Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Butter Crock.
It was made by the Red Wing Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota (1906-1936). They came in 3 and 5 pound sizes. This is the 3 pound size (Dan and Gail DePasquale and Larry Peterson, Red Wing Collectibles, p. 142).
Made about 1920, this beauty features "Butter" Framed by Two Stripes. Has the original bail handle and a replacement lid. Measures 5 1/2" tall and 6 1/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 3/8" chip on the rim in the back and two 1/4" chips on the base. No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. The lid has minor wear.
