Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White 9" Spongeware Pitcher made by the Red Wing Union Stoneware Co., Red Wing, Minnesota (1906-1936).
You can see an example of this pitcher in Dan DePasquale and Larry Peterson, Red Wing Stoneware Encyclopedia, p. 127.
This beauty features the molded ridges at the top, shoulder, and base, as well as the fancy finger grip on top of the handle distinctive of Red Wing pitchers. It sports Top to Bottom Blue Sponging. Stands 9" tall.
Excellent Condition. Minor glaze wear at the tip of the spout and a 3/8" chip on the underside at the edge. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
