    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Butter Crock.  


    It was made by the Red Wing Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota (1906-1936). They made a 3 and a 5 pound size.  This is the 3 pound size.  (Dan and Gail DePasquale and Larry Peterson, Red Wing Collectibles, p. 142).


    Made about 1920, this beauty features "Butter" Framed by Two Blue Stripes which the Button Lid Repeats.  Retains its original lid and bail handle.  Measures 5 1/2" tall and 6 1/4" wide across the top.

     

    Excellent Condition.  The base has a single 1/4" chip on the footer.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The lid is as made.  No damage of any kind.  That is all we have to report!  A great example.
