Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Butter Crock in the larger 5 lb size.

It was made by the Red Wing Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota (1906-1936).  They came in 3 and 5 pound sizes.  This is the 5 pound size (Dan and Gail DePasquale and Larry Peterson, Red Wing Stoneware Encyclopedia, p. 142).

Made about 1920, this beauty features "Butter" Framed by Two Stripes, Matching Striped Lid, and Original Bail Handle.  Measures 6 1/4" tall and 7" wide across the top.
 
Excellent Condition.  Two chips on the inner lid-seating rin (1/4", 1") and three 1/4" chips on the bottom edge.  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  The lid has two 1/4" chips on the top outer edge.  Otherwise, as made.
