  • Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Pitcher in the Grape Cluster on Rickrack Pattern.

This beauty has the impressed 5 pointed star on the bottom indicating that it was made by the Northstar Stoneware Company of Red Wing, Minnesota. This company was in business from 1892-1896.

This pitcher features a rickrack background from which clusters of grapes hang. As you can see, the mold lines and color on this example are extraordinary. Stands 8" tall.

You can see this piece in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 43-45.  It is the smallest and least common of the three sizes made.
