Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 Gallon Double-Handled Jug made by "J. Lambright, Newport, Ohio."

This is the work of John Lambright and Eli Westhafer who potted in Newport, Ohio in Tuscarawas County in the last half of the 19th century (F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, p. 107).

This beauty features a Large Size, Double Handles, the Potter's Name and Location on One Side and the Capacity Number "6" Riding a Tornado on the Other.  Stands 19" tall.

Very Good Condition with Restoration. Competent restoration for what appears to have been a 3" oval hole on the bottom of the right side with a 6" crack from it on the underside.  The restorer matched it by painting around the bottom third of the jar in a bit of overkill.  Otherwise, mint! 😁
