Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Super 4 Gallon Churn from Pennsylvania.
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Substantial Rim for a Churn Lid, Inscribed Shoulder, Applied Handles, Capacity Number Underscored with a Squiggle Stripe, and a Huge Floral with Two Buds and Three Large Blossoms. The brushed cobalt was richly and artistically applied. The blossoms each have 6 petals and a dotted stamin. The decoration fills the front. Stands 15 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some residual water glass staining inside, and a 1/2" chip on the right handle. That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
