Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Ovoid Jug
This decoration is typically attributed to the pottery of Sidney Risley of Norwich, Connecticut. Risley ran his pottery from 1836 to 1875 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 56).
This beauty features an Early Ovoid Form, and a Whispey Flower Blossom Created with a Slip Cup. Stands 11 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Five small chips on the underside at the edge (1/8" to 3/8"). That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some fine bubbles on the cobalt and a 2" horizontal drying/firing line below the top handle terminal in the making.
