Item 12432
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this very unusual 4 Gallon Stoneware Striper Water Cooler from Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Circa 1870, this beauty features Curved Sides, Tooled Rim and Middle, a Spigot Opening, and Cobalt Stripes. A straight stripe frames the rim, and two wide wavy stripes adorn the center. Additional cobalt accent around the spigot opening. Stands 14 1/2" tall.
If you collect stripers, you may have canning jars, small crocks, and cream pots, but not a water cooler. Personally, this is the only striper water cooler that I have ever seen.
Excellent Condition. Three narrow 1/4" chips inside the rim, and a 1 1/2" chip outside the rim on the right side. There is a 3" vertical hairline on the bottom of the right side in the hot spot that wraps under 3" and is likely from excessive heat there in the making. No base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
