    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Crock from the Akron, Ohio area.  

     

    Circa 1870, this beauty features a Freehand Capacity Number 4 Flanked by Leaves and an Aristic Tulip with Long Stem, Four Leaves with Accented Tips, and a Blossom with Three Petals and Fine Accenta and Three Protruding Stamin.  The decoration has some similarities with that of Burger pottery of Rochester, N.Y.  Measures 11" by 11". 

     

    Very Good Condition.  A U-shaped hairline on the bottom of the left side- two short lines with loop between on underside (closeup).  That's it!  No chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Glaze lines inside at the bottom and a circular drying/firing line halfway around the underside in the making.
