Item 13215

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this early 3 Gallon Ovoid Jar with Incised Decoration.

The heft of the jar and the color of the clay strongly suggest that this jar originated in Ohio.

Circa 1830, this beauty features a Larger Size, Ovoid Form, Handles with Cobalt Accent on the Front, and a Large Elaborate Incised Floral on the Front. The flower has two leaves and a blossom with four petals.  Stands 13 3/4" tall.  Comes with a Lid.

Good Condition.  Wear and minor chips around the inside of the rim, three chips outside the rim in the back (1/4" to 7/8"), a small 1/4" hole in the back center, and a three-legged spider on the bottom whose legs extent 2" on the front, and 5" and 7" on the back (closeup).  No base chips, stains, or restoration.  The lid has some lines.
