Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "C. W. Braun, Buffalo, N.Y."
 
This is the mark of Charles W. Braun who ran the old Heiser pottery in Buffalo from 1857 to 1896 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 75).
 
Dating around 1870, this beauty features a Salt Glaze, Squared Spout, and Pottery Stamp.  Stands 11" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition. Two narrow chips at the base (1/8", 1/2"), some light staining on the back, and traces of white paint.  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
