Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and Stamped by "N. A. White & Son, Utica, N.Y."
This is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles who ran the Whites of Utica family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and an Orchid with Two Blossoms and Four Buds. Vivid Cobalt. Measures 9" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.
Good Condition. An 1 1/2" hairline from the rim (closeup), a 1" chip on the left handle, and scattered small glaze flakes. No rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
