Item 11145
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Brady and Ryan, Ellenville, N.Y."
This is the stamp of Samuel Brady and John J. Ryan who ran their pottery in Ellenville from 1878-1897 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 66).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Classic Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration. The decoration is executed with shiny cobalt. The chicken is nicely centered and accented with dots. There are 16 pieces of corn too! (apparently I do not have enough to do!). Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A 1/2" chip on the rim in the back, a 1/4" flake on the right handle, and a faint 3" vertical surface craze line to the right of the chicken (closeup). That's it! No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
