Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 8" Wax Sealer Canning Jar from Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Finely Tooled Grooved Rim for Pouring in the Sealing Wax, and a Pair of Pears Dangling from a Stem with Three Leaves. Stands 8" tall.
One of the desirable Pennsylvania fruit jars.
Very Good Condition. Two contiguous chips on the inner rim (1/4", 1/2"). That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
