    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jug whose decoration make for an attibution to the Somerset Potters' Works of Somerset, Massachusetts. 

     

    This pottery was run by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).

     

    This beauty features a Larger Size and a Folk Art Floral created with a Slip Cup.  The floral features two leaves and two blossoms, the latter of which have multi-petaled blossom as the center of another blossom with a multitude of petals.  Resembles a sunflower.  Stands 15 3/4" tall.   

     

    Excellent Condition. Very faint staining from use.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
