Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made for "Yerxa's N O Molasses, 80 Cents."

Yerxa was located in New Orleans and distriibuted to the other states. On line I found one of their ads in the Sacred Heart Review from Boston from April 25, 1891 (p.3).

Dating around 1890-1910, this beauty features the Low and Squatty Molasses Jug Form with Large Spout, the Company Advertising in Scratch Script, and a Thick Molasses-Colored Glaze. Stands 7 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition. Four chips inside the spout (1/8" to 1/2") (closeup). That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
