Item 11740

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug whose decoration indicates that it was made by the "Somerset Potters' Works."

This pottery was located in Somerset, Massachusetts and run by Leonard and Benjamin G. Chace from 1847-1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 51).

This beauty features the a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Blossom on a Stem accented with Flourishes.  Stands 13 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Some light scattered staining from use.  Otherwise, as made.  The cobalt has considerable bubbling in the making, but still looks quite nice.
