Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Stoneware Salt Crock.
It was made in the early 20th century by the Western Stoneware Company of Monmouth, Illinois. For this piece, see Jim Marin and Bette Cooper, Monmouth-Western Stoneware, p. 85.
This beauty features a Greek Key Border Top and Bottom and the word "Salt" framed by Leaves Stenciled on the Front. The lid continued the Greek Key Border. Measures 4 3/8" tall adn 6 1/4" across the top.
Excellent and Good Condition. The base has a 1/4" chip in the bottom edge. Otherwise as made with a 1/4" glaze void on the left side in the making. The lid has restoration on the underside for chips on the edge and underside. The top remains unaffected.
