Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Decorated Stoneware Jar.
 
The flower with the circle between the stem and petals makes a probable attribution to Mauldine Perine or his former associate, William Linton of Baltimore, Maryland.  Perine and sons worked in stoneware from approximately 1827 to after 1900 and Linton made stoneware from 1845 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98). 
 
This beauty features a Brushed Cobalt Tulips Danging from a Cluster of Eight Leaves and Two Comma Vines.  Bright Cobalt on a light gray glaze for strong contrast.   Stands 13 1/2" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A kiln touch on one side in the making.
