Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Blue and White Advertising Stoneware Rolling Pin that reads, "Compliments, W. W. Carr, Ivyland, PA."
This rolling pin is in the blue and white wildflower pattern. You can see similar rolling pins in this pattern in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 142-145.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features Stenciled Wildflowers on Each End and a Double Stencil with 3 Lines of Advertising in Cobalt Blue. Clear and complete stenciling throughout. Appears to have the original handle. Measures 8" long and 3" in diameter.
Excellent Condition. A chip on the wood of the left handle holder, and a minor 3/16" chip on the right end of the roller-- both as shown. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
