Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Merchant Jar Wax Sealer made for "W. T. Hamnan, Dealer in Dry Goods, Groceries, Notions, Hats, Boots, Shoes, Hardward. Letart, W. VA."
It was likely made by T. F. Reppert of Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
Circa 1880, this beauty features the Wax Sealer Form with Grooved Rim for the Sealing Wax, Two Top and One Bottom Stripe, and the Company Advertising in Incredible Detail and Framed on the Right Side by Florals. Stands 10" tall.
An historical picture into a general store's content in 1880!
Excellent Condition. Some staining on the back. Applied shiny glaze. No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A hot spot from the kiln on the left side in the making.
