Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 5 Gallon Jar made by "A. P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, W.Va."
Donaghho ran his pottery in Parkersburg from 1874-1900.
This beauty features the Company Advertising at the Top; a Fancy Zipper made of Dashes, Dots, and Diamonds in the Middle, and Another Fancy Zipper of X's, M's, and W's Framing the Capacity Number at the Bottom. All the decoration is executed with crisp stenciling and strong cobalt. Stands 15 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. A single shallow 1/2" chip on the bottom edge of the rim on the front left, and some light exfoliation on the left side at the bottom (closeup). That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Mottling in the glaze in the making.
