    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Merchant Wax Sealer Canning Jar that reads, "James M. Poling, Dealer in Dry Goods & General Merchandise, Jackson C.H. W. Va."  Jackson Court House is now Ripley.

     

    This merchant jar was made in Greensboro, Pennsylvania by one of the Hamilton Potteries or T. F. Reppert.  Circa 1880, this beauty features the Company Name, Address, and Product in 6 Lines of Stenciled Advertising in an Eye-Pleasing Swirl!  Crisp and complete stencil framed top and bottom by stripes.  Stands 10 1/2" tall. 

     

    Excellent Condition.  Some chipping inside the rim, and a 1/4" flake at the base.  That's it!  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
