Item 13161
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Superb 1 Gallon Stoneware Decorated Pitcher.
The jar's decoration makes it easy to attribute to David Parr who made stoneware in Baltimore, Maryland from 1815 to 1855 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
Circa 1850, this beauty features Comma Vining Cascade Down Each Side of the Spout, Three Tulips Emerging from an Abundance of Leaves on the Front, a Standing Tulip on Each Side, and Cobalt Accent at the Handle Terminals. Rich, Dark, and Shiny Cobalt was used throughout. On the light gray clay, the cobalt really pops! Stands 10" tall.
Excellent Condition. A pinhead-size nibble inside the spout and a minor 1/8" flake on the footer. That is all I could find! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Exceptionally clean.
Ships double-boxed, insured, and FREE.
