Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "C. Hermann & Co., Milwaukee." 
 
This is the work of Charles Hermann who founded a pottery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1856 and ran it until 1882 when his stepson, Louis Pierron, took over (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 147).  
 
Circa 1860, this beauty features a Larger Size, Ovoid Shape, Pottery Stamp on the Shoulder, and a Big Brushed Cobalt Tulip with Four Leaves and a Blossom with Four Petals.  Stands 16 1/2" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Light scattered staining from use.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
