Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jar made and stamped by "P. Hermann."
 
This is the stamp of Peter Hermann who made pottery on Eager Street in Baltimore from 1850-1872 (William Ketchum, American Stoneware, p. 98).  
 
This beauty features a Squared Tooled Rim, Strong Pottery Stamp, and a Brushed Cobalt Floral on Each Side. The florals are unusual for a Hermann piece.  Each has a leafy stem supporting blossoms of two varieties, two on one side and three on the other.  Stands 12 1/2" tall.
 
Very Good Condition.  Two 3/4" chips outside the rim and small chips/nibbles around the base and underside.  No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
