Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, W. VA ."
 
Richey and Hamilton made pottery in Palatine (modern Fairmont) from around 1870-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).
 
Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Small Size, Tooled Rim with Groove, and the Company Advertising in a Fancy Label with an Abundance of Vining.   Stands 8" tall.   
 
Excellent Condition.  Some surface wear from use.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A 1/2" surface drying/firing line on the bottom of the right side in the making.
