Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Richey & Hamilton, Palatine, W. VA ."
 
Richey and Hamilton made pottery in Palatine (modern Fairmont) from around 1870-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 100).
 
Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim and Shoulder, Top and Bottom Stripe, and the Company Advertising Surrounding a Floral and Accented with Leaves in the Middle.  Bold cobalt on a light gray glaze for a strong visual contrast.  Stands 10" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Light surface wear.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
