Item 12243
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Covered Soap Dish in the Basketweave and Morning Glory Pattern.
This beauty is featured in Taylor and Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, on pages 201-202.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features an Intricate Basketweave Pattern with a Morning Glory on One Side. Comes with the original lid and insert with flower blossom that matches the flower blossom on the knob of the lid. Measures 3 1/2" to the top of the knob, and 5" wide across the top.
As you know, this is not a common pattern and piece in blue and white stoneware. The last one I had to sell was in 2013.
Excellent Condition. The base is as made. The lid has a 5/8" chip on the underside at the edge. Otherwise, as made. The insert is mint.
