Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "J. A. and C. W. Underwood, Fort Edward, N.Y."  
 
This duo ran the pottery in Fort Edward from 1865 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 88).  
 
This beauty features a Small 1 Gallon Size, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Cobalt Bird on a Branch Decoration.  Bright cobalt on a light gray glaze.  Stands 11" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.   Some light staining.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A stone ping by the bird's tail in the making.
