Coming  to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by I. V. Machett. 

 

This is the stamp of Isaac V. Machett, Jr. who worked in Cornwall, N.Y. from 1859-1867, first with his father and then alone (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 65 and 82-83.

 

This beauty features a Cute Squatty Form, Strong and Complete Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand Cobalt Floral.  Measures 9 1/2" tall.

 

Excellent Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  A 1/2" kiln touch on the right side in the making.  

 

Jugs by this maker are often poorly stamped with blurred decoration.  This is an exceptionally nice example.
