Item 12207

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 1 Gallon Stoneware Decorated Jar.

The jar's form and decoration make it easy to attribute to David Parr who made stoneware in Baltimore, Maryland from 1815 to 1855 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).

This beauty features a Tooled Square Rim with Groove for Ease of Tying a Cover Over the Top, and a Garland of Three Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulips.  Each tulip has a large blossom, long stem with many leaves, and additional leaves above and below it.  The decorator got carried away and had to fill the extra space.  We love those fussy decorators!  Stands 10 1/2" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A faint 2" hairline from the rim (closeup).  Otherwise, as made.
