Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous 1/2 Gallon Jar with Bountiful Bold Cobalt Decoration.

Dating around 1860, this jar features a Carefully Tooled Rim and the Main Feature: a Leaf Garland all the Way Around in Wide Brushstrokes of Generous Cobalt.  Bright Too!  Stands 8 1/2" tall.

I have tried to find comparable decoration.  Remmey of Philadelphia, PA has similar decoration, but the shape of the rim and the left flowing and thick decoration remind me of Richmond, Virginia stoneware.

Excellent Condition.  Six small flakes on top of the rim (1/8" to 1/4"). a minor nibble on the bottom of the tooled rim, and a 1/2" chip at the base.  That's it!  No other chips or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Three short drying lines at the base in the making (1" to 1 1/2") (closeup of the larger one).
