Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Stoneware Merchant Wax Sealer made for "David Burns & Co, Dealers in Staple and Fancy Groceries, Elizabeth, W. VA."
It was made in southwestern Pennsylvania, probably at either Greensboro or New Geneva.
Circa 1880, this beauty features the Tooled Grooved Rim of a Wax Sealer and Six Lines of Stenciled Advertising. Some letters missing on the right side of the stencil. Stands 7 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A single 3/8" chip inside the rim and some staining on the back from use. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
